Our entanglement with man-made environments,
The fragility of the strongest materials,
Finding chaos in systems we have imposed on ourselves,
Nothing human is perfect,
– which makes it perfect
Through creating I reflect how we are
‘No longer and not yet’
My practice is situated in the field of sculpture, exploring the human conditions of sensitivity and order and the minds negotiation with ourselves, our built environment and each other.
I am influenced by how simple but dynamic gestures and forms within minimalism can create powerful expressions. Through form and gesture, I approach sculpture as an expanded drawing practice, using found materials to create abstract shapes and repeating patterns.
My recent practice has centred around an exploration of materials which create tension. Through in-studio experimentation my practice becomes an articulation of my sensitivity to my environment.
