Amelia Browne is a material and observation-driven artist exploring connections between nature, material, and lived experience. Rooted in time spent outdoors, her practice uses close looking and ‘walking’ to record the textures and rhythms of the natural world.
Working primarily in ceramics, she embraces the medium’s unpredictability, combining clay with experimentation in texture, colour, and scale. Trees act as a central motif within her work, reflecting ideas of connection, growth and shared systems, and drawing subtle parallels between natural environments and human relationships.
Her practice is driven by a desire to slow the viewer down, encouraging careful observation and personal interpretation. Through immersive, sensory work, she invites audiences to form their own relationships with both the artwork and the environment – whether through an attention to observation, sensation or the quiet recall of memory.
