Accessories

During your visit you can borrow items and resources to help enjoy your visit, these items are:

  • tangle fidget toys
  • ear defenders
  • coloured plastic overlays
  • reading rulers
  • sand timers
  • magnifying glasses
  • bag of small pebbles

These can be found on the Ground Floor in the Common Room.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome in the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies.

Baby-changing facilities

The nearest baby-changing facility is located at the Leeds University Union. Open 8:30am-10:30pm.

Blue Badge holders

For Blue Badge holders, the Leeds University Galleries team can book you a permit to park on campus. They can provide you with a map of nearby zones on confirming your booking but cannot book a specific parking space.

To book, please contact the Galleries team at least 24 hours before your visit. They will need your name, email address and the date of your visit. You can email via [email protected] or call on +44 (0)113 343 2778.

Please note that the Galleries team can only provide support for this from Tuesday to Saturday.

Lockers and storage

We do not have a cloak room or storage.

You are welcome to carry your coats and bags with you or set them down on nearby seating.

Prayer and contemplation spaces

There are no dedicated prayer or contemplation spaces within the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies.

The University has dedicated spaces for prayer and quiet contemplation for all faiths across campus. Find them here: Prayer and contemplation spaces.

Toilets

There are multiple toilet facilities within the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies, they are located:

  • Gender neutral toilets on Floor G.5 (not wheelchair accessible)
  • Men’s toilets floor 1 on the left
  • Women’s toilets floor 2 on the left
  • Disabled toilets available on Basement Floor, Floor 1 and Floor 2 (you do NOT need a RADAR key)

The nearest Changing Places toilet is in the Laidlaw Library. The library’s Changing Places toilet includes a rise and fall wash/dry toilet (Closomat). Ask for a key at the Laidlaw Library reception.

Parking

Campus parking is not available for visitors on weekdays. We recommend you use the nearby multi-storey Woodhouse Lane car park.

Campus parking is available on weekends. Access is at the main entrance outside the Parkinson Building.

Parking for Blue Badge holders can be booked with 24 hours’ notice. Please see the ‘Blue Badge facilities’ section for more information.

Seating

In the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies, you can sit and rest on benches around the building.

On the Ground Floor is located the common room (to the left) which includes sofas and stools where you can sit during your visit.

Outside the school, there are more benches you may use.
